Job Introduction

Our Team

This role will be dedicated to a large and complex IT project, known internally as Edison. As a key member of the core project team this role will help implement a new system for the Planning, Booking & Scheduling of our UK broadcast adverts across 120 radio stations. The selected solution requires enhancements to meet our exacting requirements and this role will play an important part of the overall delivery process.

Reporting to the project’s Senior PM this role will work in conjunction with a much wider project team, managing the business change, system development, acceptance & regression testing, transition & implementation.

The focus of your role

As well as defining and delivering the overall test strategy and approach for the project, the role will be hands-on, working closely with the supplier and project resources to lead the creation and execution of test cases and test suites within an iterative/incremental software delivery environment. Leading the team with best practice testing approaches to sprint cycles, non-functional, regression and user acceptance testing. The role will manage the test resources available to the project, including the tools, environments and stakeholders, along with the identification, selection and introduction of automated test tools.

Role Responsibility

What you’ll do:

You will lead the project resources in defining and implementing the Test plan, this includes:

  • defining and reporting on the overall test plan and the test phases of the project
  • the creation and management of test cases, scripts, environments including their integrations
  • documenting and communicating test cases and best practice processes and procedures
  • driving the end-to-end logistics involved in User Acceptance and Regression Testing
  • the identification and selection of test automation tools, aligned to technology strategies
  • manage user acceptance test cycles, scripts and errors  

You will contribute to the end-to-end Sprint planning process, this includes:

  • planning the Sprint testing cycles and facilitating the creation of test scripts and user testing
  • managing the hands-on testing cycles, resources required and error logging and tracking 
  • managing the testing meetings and arranging/update meetings, as necessary

You will build good working relations with product owners & stakeholders, this includes:

  • communicating how testing will be carried out and how issues and errors will be recorded
  • providing clear, concise, accurate and timely test report updates
  • technical engagement to ensure environments are built and data is secure and can be managed easily

​You will work with Senior PM in managing internal resources and ensure the supplier assigns the right resources to achieve the project’s testing objectives

The Ideal Candidate

What you’ll bring

You will need to be able to demonstrate that you have relevant experience in a Test Lead role or similar.

You have experience in writing quality and test plans, creating test cases and executing them as part of the test cycle in a Scrum project.

You have experience in both planning, managing and executing User Acceptance Testing and regression testing. You will have used or have knowledge of automated test solutions for web application and have experience managing test environments and test data.


You are comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment and can use an iterative method and flexible approach to maintain quality and pace.

You know how to interpret the objectives of a business in relation to user journeys and their test cases.

You are skilled at communicating test concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders, explaining the detail and fundamentals when needed.

You’ve experience arranging, facilitating and leading testing planning workshops with stakeholders.

You are experienced in managing test resources and confident and familiar when arranging and facilitating testing with all levels of the Business
