The Real Life Portfolio of magazines includes the Take a Break and that’s life! weekly editions, monthly editions and a programme of Specials. The busy Picture Desk is a fast-paced environment and is responsible for getting the best quality pictures that are right for the brands and at the right price.
 
The focus of your role
 
To be part of the picture team across Take a Break and That’s Life and their associated monthly and special editions,   ensuring the best quality pictures are researched, edited and costed for both print and digital titles.

Role Responsibility

What you’ll do
 
Working within the Real Life Picture Desk team and under the direction of the Picture Editor, you will be responsible for: 
• Researching and sourcing pictures for titles across the Take a Break/That’s Life portfolio
• Negotiating with Picture Libraries and sources, ensuring pictures are within/under budget
• Working with the Picture Editor, Art Editors and Editors to design and layout visually impactful pages that reflect the brand values of each title in the portfolios
• Using Censhare workflow system to ensure work is efficient and all press date deadlines are met

The Ideal Candidate

• Good knowledge of picture libraries and picture sources
• Strong negotiation skills and experience
• Working knowledge of Censhare, Bridge, Photoshop (training will be given as necessary)
• The ability to stay calm under pressure, to problem solve and to be part of a team
• Good communication skills to liaise with all areas of the magazines and across all departments
• The flexibility to work across all titles within the Real Life portfolio, under the direction of the Picture Editor
