Marketing Executive - Grazia, TV & Real Life

The Customer Marketing Team’s role is to drive discoverability of our media brands, ensuring they enrich our audiences’ lives. By running innovative marketing campaigns to drive print, digital and membership sales, our obsession with our customer’s needs is at the heart of everything we do.

The focus of your role: 

We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to join the Customer Marketing Team as Marketing Executive. The role will be working across market-leading lifestyle brands including Grazia, TVChoice and Take a Break - plus brand extensions and events, including The TV Choice Awards.

An enthusiastic self-starter, you will be responsible for supporting the Senior Marketing Manager and wider team in the implementation of effective marketing strategies to promote our brands via print, social, radio, digital media, third parties and events. You will be customer-obsessed, with excellent attention to detail and a willingness to get stuck in and learn.

Role Responsibility

  • Implement creative marketing tactics to achieve KPIs and deliver publishing strategies across all brands.
  • Compile post campaign analysis and have an opinion on how to refine/improve activity in the future.
  • Analyse sales and market data, including competitor performance.
  • Manage email activity across all brands, maintaining schedules and liaising with internal teams to build and sign off creative in a timely manner. Track performance to optimise engagement and work with the wider team to refine contact strategy/grow email databases.
  • Manage house ad schedules across all brands to drive awareness of key campaigns via print. Liaise with internal teams to ensure all ads are briefed, created and circulated to meet strict/often tight deadlines.
  • Brief in all print and digital artwork, ensuring brand consistency and tone are maintained throughout. Demonstrate excellent attention to detail ahead of circulating proofs, ensuring all assets are signed off on time.
  • Manage end-to-end social media campaigns across all channels.
  • Build a network of third-party contacts to deliver marketing activity to drive newsstand sales/reach new and relevant audiences e.g. reader offer cover promotions and competitions.
  • Work with the Acquisition Marketing Team (Subscriptions) to ensure consistency and brand relevance of subscription campaigns, assisting with digital promotion and event opportunities to drive subscriptions where relevant. Feed into Content Calendars for each brand to maximise promotion at key times of the year and ensure new covers/content are supplied in a timely manner.
  • Brief in research needs, interpret learnings objectively, report findings back to the business where relevant and offer ideas on how learnings can be used to support future marketing activity.
  • Work with the Retail Trade Marketing Team to maximise magazine circulation and in-store visibility where relevant, particularly in the implementation of covermount, bumper and travel pack promotions, and bulk activity.
  • Update brand websites using WordPress.
  • Write and circulate press releases to support key campaigns.
  • Raise purchase orders and track all invoicing expenditures for end of month accruals where relevant.
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of each brand’s core values/positioning/target audience/reader behaviour to inform all marketing decisions.
  • Support the wider team with ad hoc tasks on a day-to-day basis.
  • The role may require occasional off-site working at weekends/evenings to ensure effective activation of partnerships.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven marketing experience – ideally within the publishing industry, although not essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adaptable with a positive attitude to challenges/change and a willingness to learn.
  • Confidence in establishing new and productive working relationships internally across the business and externally with third party clients.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced/dynamic environment.
  • Highly organised with an excellent eye for detail and the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Logical approach to problem solving and intuitive understanding of our brands.
  • Good commercial awareness
  • Creative and analytically minded. Equally adept at generating ideas and leading creative executions on marketing material, as well as being competent in interpreting complex sales data to understand the impact of marketing activity on circulation and ROI.
  • Willing to contribute ideas on how to take plans forward.
  • Experience of delivering successful third party deals and partnerships
  • Experience of Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), plus Google Analytics.
  • Prior experience/knowledge of our brands and products as a consumer.
