Data & Compliance Officer

Job Introduction

The Bauer Academy is a government registered training provider who designs and delivers innovative industry training from within one of the UK’s biggest media companies. We work closely with all of Bauer’s brands and a large range of exciting external clients across Publishing, Radio, Advertising, journalism and more.

The role will primarily support all data and compliance elements of government-funded Apprenticeships within the Bauer Academy. The role will be responsible for reviewing learner eligibility, compiling and managing enrolment paperwork, auditing learning evidence and submitting data compliant with ESFA requirements. The position also has a key function in supporting the Operations & Data Controller with systems, processes and reporting to capture and share learner information within the Academy.

Role Responsibility

As a registered Apprenticeship Training Provider, we’re required to adhere to ESFA funding rules. The Data & Compliance Officer will play an ongoing role in ensuring the eligibility of our learners, the compliance of our paperwork and processes, and the accuracy of our data, through activities such as:

  • Preparing, communicating, and tracking enrolment paperwork for new apprenticeship programmes
  • Screening/processing of apprenticeship application forms and completing prior learning assessments
  • Submitting the monthly funding claim; auditing paperwork & learning evidence whilst processing changes to learner records (e.g. new starts, leavers, achievers) in the Learner Management System
  • Acting as the first point of contact to respond to internal and external enquiries directed to the Operations team

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience of working in training and education, with knowledge and experience of data and compliance standards within apprenticeships
  • An ability to manage a busy workload effectively and work calmly under pressure
  • Great attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong sense of initiative and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly collaborative, with good inter-personal skills – persuasive, bright and positive
