Content Optimisation Executive – Affiliate Team

Our Team
The Affiliate team are leading Bauer’s investment in the monetisation of its web content via the exciting and increasingly important affiliate revenue channel. Responsible for the creation of new, and optimisation of existing content across several of Bauer’s most important sites including; Heatworld, Closer, Empire, Mother & Baby, and What’s the Best the team are constantly exploring content and commercial strategies to maximise engagement and revenues. The editorial teams content strategy is service journalism; they continually source, research and review products that our audiences will be interested in buying. We look to support savvy shoppers with the best of everything from beauty products to wireless headphones and smart TVs to plant subscription boxes.
The focus of your role
Bauer has invested in extending the exposure of its affiliate content beyond the boundaries of its own sites and now has an exciting commercial partnership that sees our content being syndicated and appearing on a partner’s shopping portal. The focus of the role is ensuring that Bauer’s affiliate content is commercially and editorially optimised in order to generate maximum via our syndication partner. 
Reporting into the Affiliate Insight Analyst and working closely with the Content Creation team, the Exec will be working with content generated by several of Bauer’s premium Specialist and Lifestyle brands including; Mother & Baby, Yours, Live for the Outdoors, Empire, Grazia, Heatworld, MCN, Car, Parkers, Today’s Golfer and Angling Times.

Role Responsibility

What you’ll do
This role is a first for Bauer and represents our commitment to this new and exciting revenue stream, the Affiliate team have been achieving significant revenue growth over the past 12 months and this role will be key to supporting that growth in the coming months and into 2021.
● Finding and uploading monetisable content from Bauer brands into a dedicated content management system. Optimising the content to maximise the potential of it appearing in the partner’s search
● Ongoing article optimisation to ensure continued appearance and sharing article/product insight with the team to support content performance on our own brands
● Making changes to the content and/or requesting editorial changes as necessary, plus testing interventions to improve chances of appearance in search and making recommendations to the team to improve performance
● Developing new digital content opportunities from non-digital content generated across the portfolio
● Working closely with affiliate colleagues to achieve agreed key performance targets including article upload and update goals

The Ideal Candidate

● Strong written and verbal communication skills with a keen interest in content creation
● An interest in a diversity of media brands and platforms and a love of lists of products associated with those brands 
● A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel plus experience in turning analytical insight into actionable opportunities
● Great people skills and ability to build relationships at all levels
● Desirable - some experience in working with a content management system (CMS)
● Desirable - a working knowledge of affiliate marketing
