Content Optimisation Assistant

Job Introduction

The Affiliate team are leading Bauer’s investment in the monetisation of its web content via the exciting and increasingly important affiliate revenue channel. Responsible for the creation of new, and optimisation of existing content across several of Bauer’s most important sites including; HeatworldCloserEmpireMother & Baby, ParkersMCN, and What’s the Best. The team are constantly exploring content and commercial strategies to maximise engagement and revenues. The editorial teams content strategy is service journalism; they continually source, research and review products that our audiences will be interested in buying. We look to support savvy shoppers with the best of everything from beauty products to wireless headphones and smart TVs to plant subscription boxes.

The Content Optimisation Assistant is responsible for ensuring that Bauer’s affiliate content is commercially optimised in order to generate maximum revenues when it appears on partner sites. Content optimisation will include content selection, content layout, product choice, product availability/replacement and product prioritisation.

 

The Assistant will work closely with the Editorial Commercial Content Team to ensure that the content is on brand and editorially correct and will request editorial changes as necessary to maximise the performance of the content on partner sites.

 

Reporting into the Content Optimisation Manager and working closely with the Content Creation team, the Assistant will be processing content generated by several of Bauer’s premium Hobby and Lifestyle brands including Mother & Baby, Yours, Live for the Outdoors, Empire, Grazia, Heatworld, MCN, Today’s Golfer and Angling Times.

Role Responsibility

  • Optimising and maintaining content to maximise the potential of it appearing in search
  • Researching, and proposing new opportunities for the Bauer portfolio
  • Working closely with affiliate colleagues and the wider digital team to achieve revenue goals
  • Develop working relationships with relevant editorial contacts to ensure access to print content
  • Working to agreed key performance targets including article upload and update goals
  • Building a high-quality working relationship with external partners
  • Staying up to date with the latest affiliate marketing trends

The Ideal Candidate

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain high accuracy and thoroughness when executing tasks
  • Extensive experience in navigating the Amazon website
  • A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong people skills and ability to build relationships at all levels
