Commercial Content Writer (Today's Golfer Digital)
Today’s Golfer is one of the leading golf media brands, comprising of the UK’s number one magazine and a fast growing website, plus the famous Top 100 Courses ranking. TG helps golfers play their best game, and covers equipment, courses and instruction.
The Commercial Content Writer (golf) is responsible for ensuring that todaysgolfer.co.uk generates the maximum possible affiliate revenue from its partners. This involves creating and continually optimising content designed to deliver direct revenue, maximising the audience which sees it and the conversion to a sale.
Reporting into the website editor and working closely with the affiliate and SEO teams, you will create and execute plans for affiliate led content on todaysgolfer.co.uk, and also offsite.
This role is indicative of Bauer’s increased commitment to affiliate marketing as a key commercial growth sector. The Affiliate team have been achieving significant revenue growth over the past 12 months and this role will be key to extending our knowledge into the golf market.
- Creating and optimising content designed to deliver affiliate revenue
- Helping grow revenue and affiliate activity
- Researching and sourcing new affiliate opportunities
- Working to agreed key performance targets
- Delivering weekly progress and activity reports for all affiliate content
- Staying up to date with the latest affiliate marketing trends
- Collaborating with the wider editorial teams to create additional affiliate marketing content
- Continually optimising existing content to maximise traffic and affiliate click-through
- Supporting meeting the ROI and sales targets through affiliate channels and partnerships
The Ideal Candidate
- An interest in golf (both playing and equipment) is desirable but not essential
- Strong written and verbal communication skills – including content creation and optimisation
- A keen interest in content creation and the wider digital industry
- An understanding of SEO
- Strong people skills
- Desirable – experience in using image editing software
- Desirable – a working knowledge of major analytics programs e.g. Google Analytics
- Desirable - a working knowledge of affiliate marketing and online partnerships/trends
- Desirable - experience in driving affiliate revenue in an agency/retailer or publisher environment would be a bonus
