Job Introduction

Our Team:

The busy Reader Services department provides a reader contact point within Bauer, via all communication avenues and supporting all H Bauer titles during standard working hours. The department works across our True Life, Astro, TV and Puzzles publications dealing with reader submissions and queries, website uploads and housekeeping, competition draws, data handling and prize payments.

The Focus of the Role:

This role is for someone who has a confident telephone manner and can offer an extremely high level of customer service, as well as taking on detailed administration tasks.

The role requires initiative, tact, common sense and a high level of attention to detail,  plus the ability to be flexible in a reactive and changing environment.

Role Responsibility

Under the supervision and guidance of the Manager, Reader Services:

  • Respond to reader queries and complaints
  • Sort, log and acknowledge incoming submissions from readers
  • Process reader submissions, including replying to readers rejected submissions and general queries
  • Gather reader contact details via e-mail and Facebook messenger to process payments and notify readers in a timely manner that their submission has been printed
  • Record keeping and payment processing via Pivotal (training will be given)
  • Weekly mail out of magazines
  • Source articles from archive at customer request
  • Process and dispatch purchases of back issues
  • Support editorial teams in contacting readers when necessary
  • Work with editorial teams to ensure they are aware of any issues/errors reported to Reader Services

The Ideal Candidate

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven experience of working in a Customer Services environment
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn new skills
